Salary:  Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities. The starting salary is approximately 2700 €/month (gross), and it increases as the Doctoral Researcher progresses in the research and studies.   

Summary:

The MIcroELectronics (MIELi) doctoral pilot programme is currently recruiting 16 Doctoral Researchers in the field of microelectronics. Microelectronics, a dynamic and intricate domain, necessitates collaborative effort, advanced infrastructure, and a highly skilled workforce. Its impact spans scientific and societal realms, serving as a linchpin for ICT and various sectors such as healthcare, energy, and transportation. The demand for microelectronics experts is burgeoning, offering diverse and plentiful opportunities in the job market. Requirements:

Candidates should possess:

Title: Doctoral Researcher in Computational Solid Mechanics

Location: The School of Engineering

Salary: The wage for this position follows the salary scheme of Aalto University School of Engineering, with monthly pre-tax salary increases based on the candidate’s progress in research and studies, ranging from approximately 2700 to 3400 euros.

Summary:

The candidate’s primary research activities will involve theoretical and computational analysis of lattice structures, complemented by physics-informed machine learning methods. Additionally, the role includes limited teaching assistant duties, approximately ten percent of working hours, primarily within the Master’s Programme in Building Technology. Teaching responsibilities may include courses such as Engineering Computation and Simulation, Finite Element Methods in Civil Engineering, Mechanics of Beam and Frame Structures, Mechanics of Plate and Shell Structures, Stability of Structures, or Material Modeling in Civil Engineering. Opportunities to serve as an instructor for Bachelor’s and Master’s Thesis students are also available.
