Background:

The University of Birmingham’s Quantum Sensing Group is expanding its research into cold atom gravity gradient sensing, targeting practical applications and the miniaturization of next-generation atom interferometers for mobile platforms. This venture is part of the UK Quantum Technology Hub in Sensing and Timing, focusing on advanced techniques such as large momentum transfer and optimal phase control.

Role Summary:

  • Research novel atom interferometry techniques for gravity gradient measurements.
