The Department of Biological and Environmental Science at the University of Jyväskylä is inviting applications for a Doctoral Researcher in Cell and Molecular Biology. Requirements:

Candidates should possess a Master’s degree in microbiology or a related discipline, with a keen interest in phage biology. Preferred qualifications include experience in experimental work related to phage-host interactions, alongside skills in bioinformatics and microscopy. Proficiency in English, both written and oral, is mandatory. The role entails contributing to the current project, conducting research, writing manuscripts, and compiling a PhD thesis. The Faculty of Mathematics and Science at the University of Jyväskylä is seeking two Postdoctoral Researchers in computational nanoscience, beginning May 2, 2024, for up to 2.5 years. The roles involve working in Professor Hannu Häkkinen’s group within the Nanoscience Center, focusing on metal nanoclusters as sensors for biomolecules. Responsibilities include developing prediction methods using machine learning, conducting molecular dynamics simulations, and performing density functional theory calculations.

Requirements:

At the beginning of the work contract, the monthly salary (gross income, excluding holiday bonus) in this postdoctoral researcher position will be approximately 3.300–4.100 €, depending on the qualifications and prior experience of the candidate.

Summary:

The University of Jyväskylä’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Environmental or Sustainability Sciences. This three-year position, starting between March 15 and August 1, 2024, is part of the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy. The starting salary will be between 3350-4400 EUR/month depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. A trial period of six months will be used at the beginning of employment.

Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics is actively seeking two Postdoctoral Researchers in Corporate Environmental Management for a four-year term. These positions, starting in March and July 2024, are centered around environmental management in the corporate sector. The focus is on corporate responsibility, sustainability, and environmental obligations. The research group addresses a broad spectrum of topics such as sustainability transitions, circular and bioeconomies, sustainable business models and strategies, and stakeholder relations.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in corporate environmental management, responsible business, or a related field with a clear focus on sustainability and responsible business practices. Additional qualifications include:

• Experience in research, publication, teaching, coordination, and guidance.
• Ability to contribute to competitive external research funding applications.
• Experience in teaching and supervising theses.
