Summary:

A scholarship is a financial aid award to an individual student (a scholar) for the purposes of furthering their education. Title: Accounting Scholarship & 4+1 Graduate Tuition Discount Program (Rider University Scholarships)

Benefits: $2,000 annually

Undergraduate eligibility & maintenance requirements:

  • High school GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Must enroll in freshman year as an accounting major in the 4+1 accelerated program 
  • Must enroll for a minimum of 12 credits per semester
  • Awarded a Presidential or Provost scholarship
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.0 or higher

Graduate eligibility & maintenance requirements: 

  • Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or greater
  • Students must be accounting majors and enroll successively from their undergraduate study to an on-campus graduate program in the Norm Brodsky College of Business

Important information: 

  • Scholarship is renewable provided the academic requirements specified in the acceptance letter, including CGPA, are maintained 
  • Scholarship cannot be renewed if the student’s major is changed
  • If the scholarship is lost, it cannot be reinstated
  • Graduate courses taken during undergraduate enrollment do not qualify for the discount
  • Students may not receive a graduate tuition discount on top of other institutional gift aid funding sources, including but not exclusive of assistantships, other grants and scholarships, and institutionally provided aid

Rider Bonner Community Scholars serve in small teams with several primary community partners to address issues of hunger, homelessness, adult literacy and at-risk youth in the Trenton area. Time: Charlotte W. Newcombe Scholarships

The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation and Rider University have established a fund to provide scholarships for mature second-career women. Title: Dean’s Scholar Awards

Dean’s Scholar Awards are available to Continuing Education incoming and re-admitted students who register for at least six (6) credits during their first semester at the University. The award amounts vary and are subject to the available funds. The awards may be renewed to include one consecutive semester, provided that students enroll in at least two courses (6 credits) in each semester.

Two scholarships are awarded annually to newly admitted Continuing Education degree candidates. Students must have previously completed a minimum of 12 credits either at Rider or in transfer, with a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA to be eligible to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Scholarships, which are renewable for a maximum of three years, are awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and academic record. This scholarship is for Continuing Education part-time mature female students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Title: PEO Program for Continuing Education

Provides need based grants to women in the United States and Canada whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families. A woman is eligible to apply for a Program for Continuing Education (PCE) grant if she:

  • Is sponsored by a P.E.O. chapter
  • Is a citizen of and studying in the United States or Canada
  • Has had at least 24 consecutive months as a non-student sometime in her adult life while being within 24 months of completing the educational program that will lead
    to employment or job advancement in her chosen field
  • Is not enrolled in a doctoral degree program

Title: Alpha Sigma Lambda Foundation Scholarship

Attend an institution with an active Alpha Sigma Lambda chapter and may be nominated by that chapter, but the scholarship applicant does not have to be a chapter member. Rider has an active ASL chapter. Applicant must be 24 years of age or older, be matriculated in a degree program leading to the baccalaureate degree, have completed 30 graded semester hours in institutional coursework by the completion of the fall or January term at the institution currently enrolled with a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and demonstrate financial need for the current academic year at the institution where the student is currently enrolled. Complete the application materials in the required format and submit it to the Chapter Councilor at Rider with sufficient lead time for verification.
