Summary:

An annual cohort of early career researchers in the humanities or social sciences is awarded a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship for a period of three years.

Eligibility:

They must be researchers from the humanities and social sciences and be based at an eligible university or research organization. Suitable institutions include any UK university or recognized research organization based in the UK. British citizens and any nationals from the EEA are eligible, regardless of where their doctorate was obtained. Individuals of any nationality who have a doctorate from a UK university are also eligible. If an applicant does not meet the prior categories, they may be accepted if they can demonstrate a ‘strong prior association’ with the UK academic community. Applicants must be of Early Career Status, meaning they must apply within three years from the date of their successful viva voce examination, which should fall between 1 April 2020 and 1 April 2023 for this round of competition.

They must already be of postdoctoral status at the time when the Research Awards Committee meets.
