The role entails conducting research and completing doctoral degree courses in information systems science.

Tasks and Qualifications:

• Conduct qualitative research on responsible digital transformation, emphasizing the role of values.
• Hold an MSc degree in a relevant field like information systems, software engineering, business administration, or economics.
• Preferably possess experience in qualitative research methods or information systems and digital transformation.
• Strong communication skills in English, with working knowledge of Finnish considered beneficial.
• Interest in pursuing a doctoral degree in the Faculty of Information Technology.
• Having at least one publication in any field is considered an asset, but the position is suitable for beginner doctoral researchers.

Salary: Salary is based on level 5 of the job requirement scheme for teaching and research staff in the salary system of Finnish universities. The starting salary will be between 3400-3800 EUR/month depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. A trial period of six months will be used at the beginning of employment. 

Summary:

The Department of Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of cognitive neuroscience for a fixed-term position from October 2024 to August 2026. The researcher will contribute to the project “Social foreign language learning: behavioral and electrophysiological studies,” funded by the Research Council of Finland, under the supervision of Associate Professor Piia Astikainen. The project explores the efficacy of social interaction and embodiment methods in Finnish-speaking adults learning Chinese, utilizing virtual reality (VR) in learning scenarios and employing behavioral, electrophysiological (EEG), and psychophysiological measures.

Requirements:

• Doctorate in psychology, education, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field.
• Previous experience with electrophysiology (EEG), with experience in psychophysiology and/or VR considered advantageous.
• Demonstrated project-relevant methodological skills and ability to publish in cognitive neuroscience journals.
• Strong communication and interaction skills.
• Proficiency in English is essential; Finnish language proficiency is not mandatory but beneficial.
• Ability for independent scholarly work and teaching skills required for the position.

The Condensed Matter Theory group at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, is seeking two Postdoctoral Researchers to focus on magnetoelectric phenomena in superconductors and the dynamical response of quantum materials, under the supervision of Stefan Ilic and Tero Heikkilä. The positions are for a fixed term of 2-3 years, starting from September 1, 2024, or as agreed.

Requirements:

• Doctoral degree in physics or related field with a theoretical thesis.
• Strong foundation in condensed matter physics, quantum physics, and statistical mechanics.
