Title: PhD Candidate (m-f-d) in Synthetic Organic Chemistry

Location: The School of Science

Position Type: Full-time 38,5 hours/week, limited for 3 years

Your responsibilities:

Your tasks:

  • working on funded projects with an emphasis on one or more of the following topics: enantioselective organocatalytic method development and the total synthesis of morphine analogs.
  • preparation of presentations and reports
  • working in an interdisciplinary team 
  • working on a PhD or scientific research

Your profile:

  • M.Sc. degree in organic chemistry. Candidates with 1-6 years of industrial or academic experience synthesizing organic compounds beyond their M.Sc. degree are welcome to apply.
  • Know how to set up organic reactions, monitor, and quench them. You are well versed in reaction optimization and have extensive experience purifying difficult to separate compounds by silica gel cromatography.
  • Good structure elucidation skills. Capable of in-depth interpretation of 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, as well as IR and MS data.
  • You can write clear experimental descriptions and express spectral and HPLC data in a text format.
