Summary:

The University of Agder, Faculty of Social Sciences, is offering two full-time PhD Research Fellow positions in Information Systems, affiliated with the Department of Information Systems. These three-year positions, currently based at Campus Kristiansand, are part of the MARIE Skłodowska-CURIE ACTIONS Doctoral Networks Industrial Doctorates (MSCA-DN-ID) Project AGORA. The project aims to train young researchers in developing the Metaverse for business and social value. The selected candidates, referred to as ‘Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellows’, will join the Human-Centered AI (HCAI) group and will split their time between UiA and a non-academic partner. Responsibilities include conducting research on governance structures (Position A) and exploring non-human agents in the Metaverse (Position B), along with communication and dissemination activities.

Requirements

General Qualifications

• Applicants must not already possess a PhD degree at the time of recruitment.
• Mobility Requirement: Applicants should not have spent more than 12 months in Norway in the 36 months before recruitment.
• Candidates must qualify for admission to the PhD program at the Faculty of Social Sciences, with a specialization in Information Systems. A master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, with an average grade of B or better, is required.
• Fluency in written and oral English.
