Summary:

The Inland School of Business and Social Sciences, located at Campus Lillehammer, is offering a 4-year Doctoral Research Fellowship in their PhD program, Innovation in Services in the Public and Private Sectors (INSEPP). The focus of the research will be on DeafBlindness and communication within the context of innovation studies. Candidates can opt for a 3-year research-only position or a 4-year position with 25% teaching responsibilities, depending on their preferences and the faculty’s needs. The role involves active participation in INSEPP’s activities and collaboration with the Department of Law, Philosophy, and International Studies at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. Successful completion of the doctoral program is expected.

Requirements:

Educational Background:

  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in fields like philosophy, psychology, linguistics, political science, education, special education, sociology, or deafblind studies. The degree must be completed with the final evaluation available by the application deadline.

Skills and Experience:

  • Fluency in English (oral and written).
  • Experience interacting with persons with CDB (Congenital DeafBlindness) is preferred but not mandatory.

Other Eligibility Criteria:

  • For admission to doctoral programs at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, a five-year graduation course (including a Master’s degree with a thesis of at least 30 ECTS) is required. Foreign degrees must be recognized by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills.
  • Applicants are evaluated based on educational background, experience, personal suitability, motivation, project’s scientific merit and innovation, academic and personal ability to complete the project, collaboration skills, and interdisciplinary engagement.
  • Compliance with government employment laws and regulations, including the Act on Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services, and Technology. Necessary approvals must be maintained throughout the employment period.

This four-year scholarship includes 25% teaching and related tasks, focusing on the university’s key areas: teacher education and pedagogy. The position is aligned with the PhD in Teaching and Teacher Education (PROFF) program and aims to enhance the knowledge base for teacher training in various learning environments. The candidate will be part of the Global Perspectives in Education (GLOBE) research group, working within a dynamic environment on topics such as history, geography, and social sciences.
