Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to contribute to the development of numerical tools within the DIOGENeS software suite. DIOGENeS focuses on implementing Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) methods tailored to time- and frequency-domain Maxwell equations, potentially coupled with differential equations for optical propagation media. This engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of these numerical tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Enhance computational kernels for solving nanophotonics’ differential models, aiming to improve performance, functionality, and user experience (utilizing Fortran, MPI, OpenMP).
  2. Develop and maintain pre- and post-processing workflows for mesh generation (GFactory component), processing complex observables (Observer component), and optimizing nanophotonic structures and devices according to user demands (Python).

Requirements:

They are looking for candidates with a Master’s or PhD degree in applied mathematics, scientific computing, computational wave physics, or computational photonics. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of numerical analysis and experience with finite element-type methods for computational physics.
