British Columbia University (UBC)

In 1908, it was established as British Columbia’s provincial teachers’ college. In 1920, it became the University College of British Columbia, and in 1965, it became its current name. The main campus of BCU is home to over 75,000 students and 3,000 faculty members. There are two campuses of the University of British Columbia, located in Vancouver and Kelowna. In the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Vancouver is an iconic city in Western Canada. This university funds more than 8,000 projects each year. In British Columbia, colleges and universities spend about $600 million on research each year.

There are various ways for international students to study for a PhD degree in Canada. The first way is finding and applying for a funded PhD position or a PhD fellowship or program support such as the University of Alberta co-op in different subjects. Otherwise, they can apply for a PhD program without funds then they can find and apply directly for Doctoral Scholarships in Canada.
