Other Funding options at Southern New Hampshire University

In addition to the many scholarships offered by Southern New Hampshire University to international students, there are also other funding options available to international students. You can find information about some of the best and most affordable financial assistance here.

Student Jobs

The maximum number of hours a full-time student can work on campus is 20 hours per week while classes are in session and he or she is in lawful F-1 or J-1 status. Despite the fact that there are jobs available on campus, it may not always be possible for students to work 20 hours a week; new students may have difficulty finding a job with little previous experience in the workplace. Due to the unpredictability of earnings from employment, earnings from employment should always be viewed as a supplement, and not as a means to pay for university expenses in the United States, as earnings from employment are unpredictable.

Resident Assistant

There are times when positions for Residence Assistants become available, so please keep an eye out for them. These positions are typically held by students who are responsible for assisting the students living on a floor and living in the campus residence halls. Scholarships, stipends, and a reduced rate on single-room accommodations are a part of the RA awards that students can apply for. It is usually only during the first year when a student is eligible for this degree program that s/he is able to apply for the program.

Athletic Scholarships

It is possible to obtain scholarships in basketball, cross-country running, lacrosse, soccer (football), tennis, baseball, softball, and volleyball for outstanding athletes in these sports. It is up to the coaches to determine the number of scholarships that will be given out.

International Students Loan in the US

US citizens generally apply for federal students loan but that is not an option for international students. However, international students loan is an option for non-US citizen. In this post, we have summarised all you need to know about these loans. Learn More.

OPT – Optional Practical Training and Academic Training

Students who are international students in the F-1 category are eligible for extending their student status after they graduate, allowing them to continue working in the United States for up to 12 months after they graduate (and up to 36 months in some cases, such as those relating to science). It is possible for J-1 international students to extend their student status while in the US so that they may work in the country for up to 18 months, or for the duration of their complete course of study if they are enrolled in an academic program that is less than 18 months. In every state in the country, students are able to find full-time, full-paying jobs related to their course of study that is in demand by employers. Your education investment can thus be recouped in part, which will allow you to recover some of the money you spent on it.
