Summary:

SpaceR, led by Prof. Miguel Olivares-Mendez, seeks a candidate for a role in robotics research focusing on autonomy in aerial, planetary, and orbital applications. The position offers two career paths:

  • Academic Track: Emphasizes research publication, grant acquisition, teaching, and academic engagement, with industry collaborations for research data.
  • Industry Track: Prepares for industry or start-up careers, leveraging theoretical knowledge in practical settings and fostering industry relationships.

Requirements

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field.

Skills and Experience:

  • Collaboration and impact-driven approach.
  • Commitment to high-quality solution development.
  • Experience in publishing significant research.
  • Proficiency in path-planning for robots, mobile robotics, C++, Python, ROS.
  • Knowledge in two or more areas: research project management, lunar robotics, multi-robot collaboration, sensor fusion, SLAM, LIDAR-based localization and mapping, mobile robot maintenance.
