They are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to contribute to an ERC-funded project aimed at disrupting the cycle of inequality and crime. The focus is on evaluating how economic disparities and social segregation contribute to criminal behavior and examining systemic obstacles faced by individuals within the criminal justice system. The project will investigate the potential for breaking this cycle through various interventions, including police decision-making processes, prison reforms, healthcare, and improving employment opportunities for those with criminal records. This role is research-centric, with limited teaching responsibilities, and requires collaboration with a team of experts from various universities.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in economics or public policy or be on track to complete one before the employment decision date. Recent doctoral graduates, with a degree obtained no more than 5 years prior to the application deadline, are preferred. Active engagement in the department’s research activities, including seminars and potential research trips to international collaborators, is expected. The terms of employment are as per the 2021 Agreement on Temporary Employment as a Postdoctoral Fellow and the University of Gothenburg’s regulations.
